Ottawa Fashion Week - filling a void within the Ottawa fashion scene - a designer's point of view
With a great pleasure I accepted an invitation to be a guest designer for Ottawa Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010, which took
place at Arts Court, 2 Daly Ave on March 24-27, 2010.
As a fashion designer I started my collaboration with the fashion week committee two years ago, in 2008. That time, as a
designer starting my business here in Ottawa, I've gained a lot of experience, exposure and also, customers! It's been a lot of work but it all payed off!
Westin Hotel Christmas Fashion Show

Just a few days before Christmas I held a fashion show for some government professionals - to set up a mood for upcoming holidays. A great dinner in one of the best Ottawa's hotels - Westin Hotel, a beautiful live music performed by a chello player and a collection sensibly put together just for this time of the year - it all made this up-scale evening a great success. It was my pleasure to work with the host, charming Dean Miller-Louis, and with some Angie's models (Marianne, Christiana, Maria, Yovana and Danielle). Please enjoy the pictures taken by Eric Mercier!
Suite 34 fashion show is back!

Last week I was invited to be a part of the designing team for Suite Fashion. Suite Fashion is back, it takes place at Suite 34, the upscale and charming bar/lounge located in Ottawa's Byward Market. Each Friday during the next 5 weeks you can enjoy there the Ottawa's night life with a glass of martini, watching the last creations of the local designers. For the night of Nov 6th, 2009 it was everything about the “Eyes Wide Shut” theme.
Embassy Fashion Show is coming!!!

I am very excited about my next big project! On November 19th, 2009 I will present my creations at the Slovak Embassy. The fashion show will be held there for the diplomats posted to Ottawa from all around the world. Designs will be modeled by gorgeous models from Angie's Models and Talent. Invited are also press, media, and different photographers. Also professional hair and make up will be provided by West End Hair Academy and selected independent make up artists. It is rare here in Ottawa that a fashion show is dedicated to one designer only. Of course, we had Ottawa Fashion Week, Capitol Fashion Week, etc. but those shows presented many designers in one evening. Therefore I feel very privileged being asked to present my designs there. I want to thank to all the Embassy people who are involved in this for their support!

Creative photo shoots

Until the weather turns very cold - what could be every moment ( in this time of the year nothing is granted!!), we went outdoor to make some more nice picures. Those fantastic fall colours inspired me to design an outfit which we have shooted outside Ottawa, in the fantastic surroundings of Ottawa Valley. Our model - Marianne (Angie's Models) became a Harvest Goddess for the day. She did a fantastic job together with a great make up artist Tracey Lahey and a charming hair stylist Vanessa Passley (from Julien Marc Salon). All pictures were taken by Eric Mercier - fabulous fotographer and visual artist. We all had a great time and I think it shows on the pictures!
